Sheltering Tree

The Sheltering Tree photopolymer stamps are a “4 season” stamp set.  You can create Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall cards with it.  Today, I chose a summer card.  There has been a lot of unsettled weather in Vermont recently and I needed a little sunshine!  Warmer days ahead I hope.

Here is the information you will need to create this card.  The Sheltering Tree stamp set can be found on Page 89 of the 2015-16 Stampin’ Up! catalog.  I also used the Hardwood rubber stamp (Page 128) with a wood mount and Kinda Eclectic (Page 127) for the sun.  Enjoy!

Card stock:
Crumb cake card base cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Pistachio Pudding card stock cut 3 3/4 x 4 1/2
Whisper White card stock cut 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 for the main image
Pistachio Pudding card stock cut 1 x 4
Whisper White card stock cut 3/4 x 4

Inks:
Chocolate Chip
Crumb Cake
Daffodil Delight
Pistachio Pudding
Wild Wasabi
Mossey Meadow
Rose Red
Wisteria Wonder

I first stamped the card base with the Hardwood stamp using Chocolate Chip ink.
Then using Kinda Eclectic “sun” image, I stamp in Daffodil Delight.  The tree trunk is stamped in Crumb Cake.  The leaves are stamped with Mossy Meadow.  The lawn swoosh is with Wild Wasabi.  For the flower stems; Pistachio Pudding and Mossy Meadow.  The flowers are stamped using Rose Red and Wisteria Wonder as a “two-step” stamping method.

To fill in the “white”, I sponged using pistachio pudding around the bottom and Soft Sky for the top third.  Make sure you just leave a little white area between the two sponged areas.  That will create a little break in colors.  I used Snail to adhere the stamped image to Pistachio Pudding card stock.

I stamped the sentiment with Chocolate Chip.  Added some brads and used stampin dimensionals to raise both areas up and give some dimension.  This was also adhered to Pistachio Pudding card stock.

For the envelope, I stamped the bicycle in Mossy Meadow and Chocolate Chip.

Happy Stamping from Inspired by Gram!

There is nothing like putting a smile on a face, hearing "wow" from a new stamper, and making new friends; near and far.
